Jillat Youth
Jillat Youth is a community-driven project designed to give local children a creative and playful alternative to traditional sports. Through five themed evenings featuring games, movement activities, art workshops, and digital Minecraft building, the project transforms Jillat – Samiskt Danscenter into a vibrant hub for cultural exchange and youth innovation.

Inspired by local families’ ideas during the inauguration of Jillat – Samiskt Danscenter, Jillat Youth is an initiative by Invisible People Contemporary Dance that aims to broaden the cultural and recreational opportunities available for children in Vuollerim and Jokkmokk.
Targeted at kids aged 7–10, the project offers five specially designed activity evenings over the first half of 2025.
Each session features a unique theme—from interactive introductions and engaging board game nights to dynamic movement sessions, creative workshops, and festive celebrations—ensuring that every encounter is fresh and inclusive.
By integrating traditional play with modern digital experiences like Minecraft building, Jillat Youth not only encourages physical activity and creativity but also nurtures cultural exchange among children from diverse backgrounds, including Sami, non-Sami, German, and Siberian communities. Ultimately, the project transforms a traditional dance center into a multi-functional space that celebrates community, creativity, and collective learning.
